The Graff house of jewellery is not as old as my previous posts on the Top Jewellery Houses. The house was established in 1960 by Laurence Graff in London. Laurence Graff was so eager to become a Jeweller that he left school at the age of fifteen to become an apprentice to a jewellery. In 2000 Graff opened its first international shop in Monaco now they have more than 50 shops worldwide. The Graff jewellery house is still a family business. Graff has made many award winning pieces and was recgnised by The late Queen Elizabeth for all his achievements.
The Graff Ruby was owned twice by Laurence Graff. The first time it was sold to a customer and then he bought it from an auction. The purity of the ruby is what makes this piece one of a kind. The ring has Burmese ruby weighting 8.62 carats which is not heated this means that the ruby was found with natural colour. The ruby is not the only stone ring, diamonds are also set on the ring.
