I have been working for weeks on my ceramic pieces and last week I completed it by adding the final glaze. Last week Friday I beaded some necklaces for the pendants and the other pendants I tied with strings. After all my pieces were glazed and fired because of the shrinkage one of my ceramic ring actually fit me. I was ecstatic when I tried the ring on. This project taught me a lot about working with clay. I didn't realise the work that goes into making one ceramic cup. Through this project I've learnt to appreciate ceramic work.

Making the pinch pots and pendants were easy what was hard to make was the rings because the rings that I made were very small considering that smaller pieces of clay dry faster. There were so many steps in making these ceramic pieces that it took me about a mouth to make. The design process did not take time because I had my shell collection for inspiration. All of my ceramic designs were inspired by the oceanic theme although, most of the designs came from shells. One question that was asked in the beginning of the project was “are shells good to think with?” I do believe so, especially in design. So many different ideas can come from shells if only you take the time to think about the shell whether it is the shells form, pattern, colour or structure.
The paragraph above is just the written piece that was posted on my instagram page. You can view my instagram page to see more pictures of y ceramic work.
